Overview of the STIHL MSA 60 CB Cordless Chainsaw
Designed for domestic tasks, this versatile chainsaw weighs just 2.5 kg, without the battery. It has a bar length of 30 cm (12 inches), chain speed of 13.2 m/s, and is fitted with a potentiometer for infinitely variable speed control.
The STIHL MSA 60’s slim ¼-inch P PM3 saw chain provides outstanding cutting performance, while the chainsaw’s low vibration levels make it comfortable to use and improve the accuracy of your work.
The E C Engine
Light in weight and with a compact design, the MSA 60 CB’s engine is low maintenance but highly efficient.
Not only does it fully utilise the battery’s power and have an extra-long service life, but with a sound power level of 91 dB(A), it’s incredibly quiet too – great news for your neighbours!
STIHL’s Quick Chain Tensioning
Thanks to STIHL’s Quick Chain Tensioning function, you can quickly and easily tighten, loosen or replace the chain with the chainsaw’s adjusting wheel, so there’s no need to use tools.
A right turn on the wheel increases tension on the saw chain, while a left turn loosens it. (The guide bar automatically secures in place when you tighten the sprocket cover.)
Quick-Stop Super Chain Brake
Another great feature of this cordless chainsaw is its Quick-Stop Super Chain Brake function, which allows you to activate the chain brake from the rear handle. The chain is stopped in seconds if there is sufficiently strong kickback, the front hand guard is moved, or if you let go of the rear handle.
STIHL is the only chainsaw company to provide this feature, which works in any operating position. This clearly increases safety, particularly when you’re carrying out jobs that require frequent stopping of the machine.
Soft-Grip Rear Handle with Ergo Lever
This MSA 60 CB Cordless Chainsaw also features a soft-grip rear control handle, including Ergo Lever, making it particularly comfortable to use.
In fact, the handle’s soft material actually improves your grip on the chainsaw, particularly in wet conditions, ensuring consistently safe working practice.
Safe Two-Handed Operation
Also, with your safety and comfort in mind, the STIHL MSA 60’s front handle comes with an ergonomic design.

Transparent Oil Tank
Thanks to a transparent tank, you can easily monitor the chain oil level, without removing the cap. Once the chainsaw does need more oil, you’ll find the cap very easy to remove – again, without the need for tools.
This will help you work more quickly and efficiently, particularly when carrying out longer tasks.
The Batteries and Charger
This STIHL cordless chainsaw is supplied with 2 x AK 20 batteries and an AL 101 charger. As the machine only requires one battery, the other can be used as a spare.
The AK 20 batteries have a working time of up to 40 minutes, when fully charged.

Just bought one from garden machinery,am only a homeowner cutting wood for my fire, arrived on time, tried it out today, only had 1 bar on both ak20 batteries, put one on charge used other and was well impressed with performance cut a fair amount of wood before it quit ,let other charge to 3 bars ,lots of power cut sh1t loads of wood ,stihl, need I say anymore, Quality,for a small saw it has a big bite.
