About the HONDA IZY HRN 536 VY Petrol Lawnmower
A 21 inch petrol lawnmower with collecting and Versamow mulching functions
The new HRN 536 VY from Honda is a petrol lawnmower designed for homeowners who want premium features and value for money. It has a 21 inch cutter deck and can either collect cuttings in the 70 Litre grass bag, or with the Versamow mulch plug inserted can very finely shred clippings and leave them almost-invisibly on the ground to fertilise the soil – mulch; both methods are done more efficiently thanks to the improved cutter house design.
Variable speed Smart Drive makes it easy to manoeuvre
Having variable speed drive means that the lawnmower will propel itself forward at any 1 of the 5 preset speeds, meaning no pushing is required; this is particularly helpful to those who struggle with the push aspect or those with sloped gardens. The Smart Drive utilises a new paddle shaped lever situated on the handlebar to control the lawnmowers speed; its ergonomic design means that either the palm or thumb of either hand can control the speed – no more stretching to push or pull a lever.
With Honda’s Roto-stop® blade stop system
The Roto-stop® blade brake stops the blades from turning but keeps the engine running; it is a great convenience and time-saving feature meaning you don’t have to restart the lawnmower when you need pause, to empty the grass bag, move obstacles out of the way, or transport the lawnmower over other surfaces.
Built for enhanced user convenience
The cutting height is adjustable through 7 preset positions 27-100 mm using two easy-to-reach levers, one each positioned on the front and rear axle; the grass bag is efficiently filled thanks to its new design. Maintaining the lawnmower is quick and easy, with fast access to the oil drain and spark plug, and a large fuel filler cap. A new two-way ratchet system means the wheels can freely rotate in both directions for comfortable manoeuvrability. The handlebars quickly and simply fold down for space-save storage.
A 5 year domestic warranty with Honda is included, we will register the machine. T&Cs apply.

Excellent piece of kit, does exactly what it says on the tin and just eats up wet spring grass not cut since September

I bought this to replace a Honda lawnmower that had finally died after 25 years of good service. The new 536VY looks a well made machine that starts easily and appears to work well. In particular the mulch facility is very impressive. The Smart Drive takes a bit of practice as I found initially I was pressing it a little too hard and the mower was moving at a jogging pace! The service from Garden Machinery Direct was very good. It was easy to order and track the progress of the order. The mower arrived within 4 working days of ordering it. I was a little surprised to find that the mower was delivered on a large plastic pallet. I assumed the carrier would take the pallet back to be reused, but I was told that the pallet was ours. This meant that I had to dispose of the pallet, which I had to take to our local recycling centre. As most people are trying to cut down on the use of plastic, it is disappointing that the plastic pallet could not have been returned to be reused.
